KCSU

A little more about KCSU...

The mission of KCSU is to train students to collaboratively operate a radio station that delivers and creates content that informs and inspires our listeners.

KCSU programming is proudly curated and produced exclusively by Colorado State University students. The leadership team is made up of 18 part-time student staff that manages everything from promotions, to video production, to audio engineering. The voices you hear on KCSU are CSU-student DJs who pass our 4-week training program in order to host their weekly 2-hour shows.

KCSU broadcasts underrepresented music, news, and sports coverage, and adds a new album to the music rotation nearly everyday to an ever-growing library of more than 30,000 songs. From 7 am to 3 pm daily, KCSU’s DJs play this new music rotation of alternative genre-spanning music. After rotation, until 7 am the DJs host specialty programming, which can focus on a musical style, news, talk, and sports.

Euan Peart | Station Manager

Hi! My name is Euan 🙂 I’m the new Station Manager at KCSU! This is my final year at CSU. I have loved this station ever since beginning training in January 2022. My DJ name is DJ Webz. In my time at KCSU, I’ve hosted the shows: Arachnophobia, Music is Magic, Ramblers, the short-lived Stuck in the Web, L.O.V.E., and soon, my summer show Hot Sauce*. I’ve also produced and been on the call for KCSU broadcasts of CSU sports. I have totalled around 250 hours of on-air experience over my time here. As well as being a DJ at KCSU, I’ve been the Assistant Sports Director, Sports Director, and Training Director. I am hoping to graduate CSU with a Bachelor’s in Human Sciences, Majoring in Apparel & Merchandising with a concentration in Product Development in December this year and will stay on as the KCSU Station Manager for the second semester. I hope to bring you some of the best content KCSU has ever had! But more importantly, I am so excited and honored to be a leader in the KCSU community that has always been so wonderful to me. I hope to make all of you proud and can’t wait to hear from you when you text or call in to the station, the listeners are what makes the radio go!

Asher Korn | General Manager

Audio and Music Student Media Advisor

Asher Korn, aka Emcee Asher, is known as the “Mother of Chaos” ’round these parts. An avid fan of all things radio, Korn enjoys live (and local) music, solving mechanical mysteries, high production quality, indie sleeper hits, heart-felt passion projects, editorials, collages, and plants. Korn is always open to listen to new content or hear about your day. Korn joined the Rocky Mountain Student Media professional team as the KCSU Adviser, General Manager, and Chief Operator in August 2022, but Korn has been spinning tunes at KCSU since the summer of 2018 and has previous leadership experience as the Station Manager during the turbulent 2020-2021 school year. Primary duties involve training students to collaboratively operate a radio station that delivers and creates content that informs and inspires KCSU listeners and makes sure that all paperwork for the station is filled out on time. Come visit Korn’s pop-art dungeon located in the office next to the KCSU studios. The door's always open, unless it’s (literally) closed. Graduating from CSU in 2021, Korn earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts, with a concentration in Graphic Design, and a minor in Business and Entrepreneurship. Korn was previously the mid-day host for 94.3 the X (NOCO ALT), board operator for CSU Football & Basketball on Power 102.9 and alternative host/board operator for the Colorado Eagles Hockey broadcasts on 99.9 the Point, in addition to writing/photography credit for both Townsquare Media and (SALT) Magazine.Zines are a passionate hobby of Korn’s and previous work has been published in Scrapped Magazine, the Deserted Zine, SIAMB Zine, and the Greyrock Review. Korn continues to make content for the original zine titled “IZOR,” when there is a moment of calm to create something.
