College Media Association
The Collegian won a Pinnacle Award from College Media Association for best special section, which was for our transgender awareness week edition. This included the original story of Kaz Smith that Tree Stump Films went on to create a documentary about.
The Collegian won a second Pinnacle for best photo spread for a story titled “Hindsight 2020: A look back at the semester in photos.” The headline was especially clever because it was Fall 2020.
The RMSMC Advertising and Marketing department won two pinnacles, one for Best Ad Supplement/Special Section with Ram Life, and one for Best House Ad in the Collegian for a campaign encouraging readers to listen to KCSU.
We also won two awards in the CMA Film and Audio Festival. Alex Prast took first place in Video Feature for a story on Totally 80s Pizza. Fun side note — it was his first package ever for CTV.
Our other Film and Audio Festival award was in video sports package, where Sydney Wicker took first for a story on Athletes in Tandem.
